On May 21-24, the IAPSS World Congress 2024 was organised in cooperation with Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Department of Political Science and History, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, and with the support of the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in Athens. The IAPSS World Congress is the largest annual event hosted by IAPSS – the International Association for Political Science Students.
On the first day of the event, DE-CONSPIRATOR was presented by White Research SRL – the project’s dissemination manager – in the expert panel “State Security in Cyberspace”. The two speakers, Thomas Bakratsas and Nikolaos Sotiriou, shared with attendees the project’s main objectives, expected impact and next steps. A rich discussion followed on Foreign Information and Manipulation Interference, which was moderated by Prof. Anthony Rolando Medina Rivas Plata.
You can find here the project’s presentation of the event.

With 2024 marking a pivotal year for democratic processes – where nearly two billion people worldwide will participate in various elections, including the European Parliament elections in June – FIMI poses a major threat to liberal democracies that rely on the free and open flow of information. As we are heading toward the 2024 European elections, the importance of shielding the Europan public against incidents of Foreign Information and Manipulation Interference is becoming ever more critical.
DE-CONSPIRATOR works to de-conspire FIMI efforts, making a significant contribution to the defenders community. You can get in contact with us and help us in our efforts.
