We are thrilled to share that the DE-CONSPIRATOR project was part of the Sofia Information Inegrity Forum, which tooke place in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 7 to 9 November 2024. The Forum, co-organised by the project’s partner Center for the Study of Democracy, was dedicated to 35 years since the Fall of the Berlin Wall and addressed the persisting challenge of malign foreign influence in Europe’s most vulnerable region: the countries of South East Europe and the Black Sea. Topics spanned from technologies against disinformation and information operation to media literary and policy pathways.

Information security in Bulgaria has evolved from a media topic to a critical national security issue. The urgency for effective measures against disinformation, improved media literacy, and greater transparency in the media sector has never been clearer. Protecting the public sphere from manipulation and upholding democratic principles require coordinated efforts both domestically and internationally.

The project was presented under the Forum’s third session, which was about Building Resilience in Public Administration and Society. Alexander Politov, Analyst at Sociological Programme of CSD, presented the results from the systematic literature review on social and collective drivers of FIMI and their impact on collective action and society – a research funded by the project.
